How To Stop Being Afraid

When I started coaching people in the healing arts I had to teach them to stop being afraid of the world and to take action in how they approached their work. I realized that fear and anxiety were holding many teachers back from moving forward, and that being comfortable in your own skin was a huge step in the right direction.

You know it’s bad when you feel that you could die at anytime, that is, anytime you take action. A fear-based world keeps you tied down. A safe living and working environment opens your mind to new ideas that you cannot see in front of you while you get caught in your own head. When you begin to practice this way of thinking, it will open many doors for you. It will change how you see the world and how you react to things while working in the field.

You don’t have to be afraid of anything to start healing. You just have to do something. I’ve never been one to worry. In all the years that I’ve coached people I am never one to stop. I find that the most important thing I am doing is helping people become the best version of themselves. If they feel scared of how things are going to turn out, I can assure you, it won’t turn out to be a good story. It’ll be a dark one, and sometimes painful.

As you begin to change your thinking, you are no longer tied to the patterns of the world. You no longer have to be afraid that you will fail. I’m not saying that to be arrogant and confident, there are times that you’ll do well and there are times that you’ll completely let the world down. What I am saying is that when it feels like an easy task just to make a decision, to do something and say, “I’m going to do this.” You’ve given yourself the power of your own will. I call this the “self-determined” approach to moving forward.

When you begin to do this, you feel like you’ve been given something to work with. Nothing is taken from you, nothing is taken away from you just to make your life easier. You have a plan that you want to pursue. You see things in a much wider perspective and you can change them. You see other people as equals, you see yourself as no different from them.

So once you stop being afraid, and once you learn how to take action, you will never go backwards, and your actions will be your best ideas ever!

You can see that I’m working with people in both the therapeutic and educational fields. I have experienced both the highs and lows of being an expert trainer. What I have always learned is that both forms of training are important, and that you must learn to balance the two types. Learning to coach in either a therapeutic or educational environment will help you to find the balance that will enable you to heal your body and mind.

I don’t have to wait until the end of this blog entry for anything. I will be posting a new blog entry every Wednesday for the next week, as I write about the experiences that I’ve already gone through.
