What Is The Most Effective Way To Lose Weight?

For women, the answer seems to come immediately — eat less. For men, the answer seems to come after two months, when men’s weight starts to trend downward as they do less physical work than women do, and thus, the calories they eat add up.

For the average woman, the answer seems to come immediately — eat less (the more, the merrier!). For men, the answer seems to come after two months, after men’s weight starts to trend downward as they do less physical work than women do, and thus, the calories they eat add up. It’s about eating less, not eating less. It’s not about counting calories. Just eating better — even if you are at the lower end of the calories range.

I want to stop here because it’s a short post on weight loss, and it is probably not the most controversial part of my answer, but I’d like to address one thing. The notion that women need less willpower as they approach the end of a 30-day challenge than men needs to weigh heavily on my mind. Women need less willpower as they approach their goal to lose weight, and that seems to go against everything I’ve heard about men and women. That is why I’m addressing it here, as well as the other three points I feel strongly about.

Finally, there was another comment. It was along the lines of, “But the most important thing about getting your life back on track is that you have to do something about your emotions.” That’s right. You’re going to go through the process of letting go and finding your own happiness. And when you’re really trying to start your life over, the only emotion we’re likely to have is disappointment and discouragement. If that’s it, then, of course, you’ll have to deal with that. But if you start by being able to feel what it feels like to be happy, the rest of the process can take care of itself.

So that’s my answer; I want to stress a few things:

First of all, most of what you need to do to start your own recovery program is to let go of what you used to think you needed to do. You might want to read this article or this one or this one , and realize you’re really only interested in being happy for 30 days and you’re doing everything you need to do to make that happen. And once you start getting those emotions kicking in, then the rest of the process begins.

Secondly, most of what you need to do to start your own recovery program is to get to know yourself better. That’s also a good time to reflect on what your values are; what you believe about yourself. If you believe that you deserve to be happy, then learn and try to learn to express that with each other, both on and off social media. And if you believe that you deserve to eat a certain way, or that you’re capable of being someone else’s punching bag, it might be time to change that. If you believe that you deserve to be happy and happy is to be successful in life, then don’t worry about the consequences of making other people happy (as you will).

Finally, the most important thing you can do to start your own recovery program is to make time for it every day. It will take a few weeks to learn it all but by then, you’ll see the power of the habit and how much easier and more enjoyable it becomes. Even if you’re not in a situation where you’re physically recovering, just sitting down with your favorite book or watching your favorite TV show once a day for at least 10 minutes, feels amazing for me, and that’s why I’ve kept it going. And let me tell you, it’s a great feeling.
