Why I Know When To Go For A Drive

A drive can be one of the best ways to clear your mind. Get into the flow of your car, and you’ll feel rejuvenated. You’ll be happier, and maybe you’ll have that moment of clarity you were hoping for.

Every great road trip starts with going out to a neighborhood bar or restaurant. If you don’t have a friend along, go with someone your age or a friend of friends because you will have more fun. But you’ll also find that your friends are actually a lot more interesting that way. They get to share stories, laugh, or be silly, and that’s what you want more than anything.

I am a great believer in being alone and not talking to anyone. But if someone is driving and it’s raining, you should ask them if they need any assistance. It could save you from a potential traffic ticket. And I’ve learned that while I can’t do everything by myself, you don’t have to.

If you are a good driver, I find that it gets more expensive for the police to pull me over than it does for the average person. And as I said before, the police can’t find anything on me. They must have an open record on me, but I’m pretty sure I don’t have one. So I just keep driving. It’s just safer.

If you don’t feel like driving, but you still want some fun on your drive, try some of the following activities you might not normally do. Take the bus. Maybe it’s not the best choice if it’s cold out, but I find it’s much cheaper in the winter than on the bus. If you do happen to have to take a bus, get an extra seat. Just the cost is worth it. Watch a movie. You never know when you’re going to need it. Some of the movies are hilarious. The other movies are just okay, but they might put a smile on your face or make your day. Drive around town. One night when it was getting cold, I sat in my car in the lot of an old church on a very cold night, and I think I could see God. I was just a kid, I hadn’t seen him in a while, and I was able to see a God who cared enough to save.

Don’t forget:

You have the power to control your body. Even if you’re driving and your stomach is in the back of your mind or you’re going to vomit, there is no reason to panic. Just calm down. You’ll feel better.

Make a plan for every aspect of the trip, and don’t forget to pack snacks. They are your lifeline. If you don’t have snacks, you’ll be in a panic for hours.

You don’t have to make a long term plan if you’re planning just for one weekend. Or even just for one weekend. If you have a great weekend, you’ll want to come back, and that’s perfectly fine. Just have fun the next time, so you don’t have too much of a hangover.

The day I started getting a headache, I didn’t know about any of this. My friends and I were cruising around town, and it made no difference how cold it was. We had fun and made memories.

My brain knows that it’s cold enough to drive if it really hurts. There aren’t really that many things that hurt when you have a car.

Take control of your body, and your mind will also. That means you can be better off without a car. And if you don’t have a car, you can still enjoy the great things about the great road trip!

The other week, we went on a road trip through Texas. It was like Christmas. The road trips that used to be so complicated were simple and fun.
