Why I’m Running New York Marathon For The First Time This Year

I have to run New York’s marathon, which will be the third largest marathon in the world. I am not particularly a runner, but I am a runner who has always run. I ran my first marathon in 1998 and have now completed three marathons, with a fourth on the horizon. I run to connect with others across disciplines and with my country. Running is a personal project, an exercise I believe is essential to my wellness. Running is what I do when I get up in the morning and when I go to bed at night. Running is my time. My goals are simple and are derived from me, and not from any external circumstance.

If you are reading this, then you are not alone. I have been running marathons for years. One of my first races was the New York City Marathon in January 1999. I started running regularly in my early 20’s, but ran less frequently after I married my husband. I ran the New York City Marathon for the first time only six months ago. I’ve been trying to build a routine, but it hasn’t been easy. I have always wanted to be a better person, a stronger person, a friend, a father. I run because I want to give others a taste of running because I want to feel better, and to show that running a great distance and completing a grueling marathon does not have to be a grueling experience.

New York is a difficult distance for a runner. This is why I ran it alone. When I run alone I have more time to myself. I have less competition for my time; this can have a much bigger effect than if I ran with hundreds of people. It is also much easier. There are very few hills in New York. There are very few barriers to my time. I am not trying to outpace any other runner. I will not outpace my husband in any meaningful way. In my experience, many runners have been overly competitive. I am not trying to win the NY Marathon in the fastest time. I am running to challenge myself and I am running because I don’t feel well enough.

There are many reasons for running a marathon, but the major reasons are motivation and to connect with others. I will attempt to provide a short list of reasons why I think this will be a good idea.

Motivation for New York’s Marathon

New York’s marathon, which is being organized by the New York City Marathon Foundation, will benefit a good cause with a good cause. The city hosts the largest marathon in the world and has hosted marathons for more than 100 years. They have some of the strongest volunteers and are very well organized. This is a great cause to raise money for which makes it all worthwhile. The money raised will go towards the New York City Marathon Foundation’s support of its annual marathon. The New York City Marathon has grown from an organization with just over 400 competitors in the early ’90s to its current status of hosting over 10,000 competitors. This year will be its 50th anniversary and has attracted the support of more than 300 organizations. When New York City launched the City Marathon in 1966, it was a relatively humble event. It consisted mainly of marathoners running 10 miles and was run primarily by volunteer groups. Today, it features some of the best competitors in the world, and the event has gained a tremendous amount of international support from groups like Team USA, Lululemon Athletica, U.S.A. marathon, and Team New York.

Another motivating factor is my desire to make a difference and have an effect on others.   I plan on participating in a number of public speaking engagements, and I am also going to run several half-marathons and a 10km run through New York City. This will give me the time and focus I need to raise the necessary funds to keep the marathon running and running deep.

Finally, I am running to prove myself at the highest level of distance running. I will be running alone in an event that I can not afford to lose. This is a challenge that I know I can’t lose because I will be taking part in an event that I am committed to winning.

Connection with New York’s Marathon

The New York, New York Marathon is well-known for having the largest field of any marathon in the world.   The New York City Marathon will be held at the historic Bowery running in midtown Manhattan this year.
