In Fuhrman’s words, “You don’t have to drink as much water to lose weight; you have to drink it in a healthy way. You don’t have to drink as much water as the soda people seem to think if you’re drinking a healthy way. Drink your water before you eat; drink it all day long; do not have an extreme water intake. You will be much better off.” Dr. Fuhrman says that the average person should be drinking 2.8 liters of water per day. In his book The New Diet Revolution , Dr. Fuhrman gives the following guidelines, “First, go to the bathroom only every five minutes; do not waste time trying to pee. Second, avoid drinking sodas, sports drinks and other sodas that contain artificial sweeteners and other foods that are high in carbohydrates.”
